VistaScan Mini makes the changeover to digital X-ray easier than ever

The image plate technology from Dürr Dental has developed more and more into the standard procedure for dental X-ray diagnosis. The new VistaScan Mini now combines the outstanding and uncompromising image quality of the Dürr Dental PCS technology with particularly simple operation and a compact design – and thus makes the changeover from “analog” to “digital” more interesting than ever before. The new “Mini” from Dürr Dental is also the clever choice as chairside solution for X-ray and ultra-fast readout of the image plates directly at the treatment chair.

With the systems from the VistaScan family, more than 20,000 surgeries worldwide are already today enjoying the advantages of image plate technology “Made in Germany”. The patented PCS technology (“photon collecting system”) guarantees an effective image resolution of 22 line pairs per millimetre. The image resolution is superior to that of the conventional X-ray film even today, and even an ISO 06 file is easily visible in the X-ray image.

The VistaScan Mini combines the performance of the image plate technology with the familiar application of the analog X-ray film. The thin, flexible image plate protected in a hygienic sleeve is placed into the mouth and exposed. The right-angle technique can be employed here, optionally with special Dürr Dental image plate holders. After a quick wipe disinfection the image plate is transferred directly from the sleeve into the image plate scanner. Just a few seconds later, the image appears on the monitor. At the same time, the image information on the image plate is deleted. It slides out of the VistaScan Mini and is ready for the next X-ray exposure – several hundred time, thanks to its special coating. Vis display, dentist and assistant can keep an eye on important recording data, such as patient's name and image informations.

The VistaScan Mini can be conveniently integrated into any IT network via Ethernet and USB. The team can run it with the DBSWIN imaging software or alternatively with any common existing X-ray software. The VistaScan Mini can be located either in the central X-ray room or directly in the treatment room. In a multi-room practice is can be expedient to equip several rooms with an image plate scanner. As it is only roughly as large as a mini stereo compact system it will fit into the smallest of spaces.

The VistaScan Mini complements the existing family of Dürr Dental image plate scanner. While the VistaScan Plus offers a system for the complete range of X-ray diagnostics, including panorama and CEPH, the VistaScan Perio is recommended as a central solution for intraoral recordings in larger surgeries, as it can scan up to eight image plates automatically in a single working step. The VistaScan Mini is suitable for any team considering an easy changeover from “analog” to “digital”, be it as a new central X-ray solution or for X-rays right at the treatment chair. And not only the practical benefits are impressive - so is the price.
