New Dürr Dental camera for intraoral and fluorescence images

19.10.2011

Bietigheim-Bissingen, August 16, 2011 –– Dürr Dental places a special focus on making sure that images taken using its imaging systems are as conclusive as possible. Pure marketing tools are inappropriate, since dentists primarily require a system that will form the basis for their diagnostic decisions. This is the case both for X-ray systems and intraoral cameras. Dürr Dental now offers intraoral camera and fluorescence images in the compact version VistaCam iX, which includes intelligent DBSWIN software.

The latest generation of the VistaCam iX intraoral camera - which was presented for the first time at the IDS 2011 - is not only characterised by its functions; in addition, it meets all requirements pertaining to ergonomics.

In this new camera, Dürr Dental has brought together tried-and-tested, successful technologies. The VistaCam product range epitomizes efficient communication and support for diagnosis.

The VistaCam iX meets the highest requirements for fully digital image transmission with regard to depth of field and image quality. The circular, well-considered arrangement of the LEDs ensures optimum and homogenous illumination.

Until now, the early detection of caries and the visualisation of plaque have been achieved using the VistaProof fluorescence camera. Now, the new VistaCam iX enables both intraoral camera images and fluorescence images.

The operator can quickly obtain an overview of the current state of the patient's teeth. The Dürr Dental DBSWIN software enables the precise localisation and evaluation of caries activity on the screen. The new product version also allows video clips to be recorded, thus documenting the current situation of the patient.

The VistaCam iX has a 360° all-round capture ring which enables the best possible use of the Still/Live and Save functions in all possible imaging situations. The Sensitive Control function conveniently sends confirmation signals to the handpiece. A movement sensor enables the automatic activation and deactivation of the camera. Moreover, it can be used in practically all types of surgery – even as a stand-alone version with no PC. The disconnector on the handpiece means that the VistaCam iX is ideally suited for surgeries with multiple treatment stations.

The VistaCam iX has been awarded the iF product design award, red dot design award, and Focus Open Gold. It has also been nominated for the Designpreis Deutschland (German Design Prize). These awards and nominations reward the VistaCam iX's successful combination of function and design.
