2008

The shareholders of Dürr Dental GmbH and Co. KG have decided to convert the firm into a joint stock company. At the same time, former Managing Director Martin Dürrstein, the long-serving Head of Marketing and Sales, Axel Schramm, and the Head of Finance, Joachim Eppinger, will be appointed to the Management Board of the new Dürr Dental AG. After more than 40 years on the management team, Walter Dürr will take a seat on the newly formed Supervisory Board where he will serve as Chairman

The year of the dental image plate: With the introduction of the brandnew VistaScan Perio and the next-generation model VistaScan Plus, Dürr Dental is now firmly established as the leading manufacturer in image plate technology. X-raying with the Dürr PCS-technology is setting new standards in the dental practice.


2005


2004

The introduction of RinsEndo, the therapeutic tool for hydro-dynamic rootcanal preparation, modernises Dürr Dental the endodontics and emphasizes focussed activities in tooth conservation. An internationally recognized test procedure verifi es the superior effectivity and safety at tissue resection


2003

Dürr Dental establishes the Project Management Dental Clinics. Operations cover planning, installation and maintenance of specific and customized solutions for compressed air and vacuum supply needs of dental clinics. New technologies such as semi-suction- and compressor systems complementing over fifty years of experience
with clinic suction requirements. Dental clinics all over the world, among them the renowned clinic of the
Juan-Carlos-University in Madrid count in on the clientèle. The latter was equipped with compressors
and suction systems to serve 320 workplaces, both phantom-units and Dental Units for patients.


2002

A new highlight in digital diagnostics: The dental Image Plate Scanner Dürr VistaScan enters the scene – maintaining top image quality and setting completely new standards in reading-out speed and handling of X-ray films.


2000

At the beginning of the new millenium Dürr Dental describes in a pamphlet titled ‘VistaFuture – New Perspectives For the Dental Practice’ the holistic approach in Dürr Diagnostic-, Prophylaxis- and Therapy Systems.


1999

At the IDS in Cologne Dürr Dental presents the new Vector with a live treatment demonstration in a 'transparent practice' - for all to observe the new finer method of specific and nearly painfree healing and prophylactic therapy for periodontal conditions.


1997

The Dürr VistaRay Sensor takes yesterday‘s intra-oral X-raying into the morrow with digital reading-out of image information, thus significantly reducing radiation exposure to the patient.


1995

‘A picture is worth more than a thousand words.’ The dental video system Dürr VistaCam offers enhanced diagnostic options and, supported by imaging at the PC and a monitor installed directly to the Dental Unit, dentist-patient communication is moved to the next level. By this, the new product area of Digital Imaging System is started and the SMD production of the optical diagnistic elements is done at the Gechingen facilities under cleanroom conditions.


1993

Introducing the Dürr VS 300 Combined Suction Unit, an innovative technology enters the market, where suction motor and separating unit – later with amalgam separator added to make the VSA 300 – is combined into one compact system. A top performing, robust unit, with all system elements moving on one and the same shaft.


1991

Dürr Dental celebrates her 50th anniversary with great ceremony under the Roman Viaduct in Bietigheim, with all staff and sales representatives from Germany and all around the world attending.

Dürr Power Tower Systems stand for high performance in delivery of a dental practice‘s needs of compressed air and suction, packed
in a noise-reducing cabinet requiring no more than 60 x 60 cm space.


1990

The Dürr Combi-Separator proves on a minimum of space how effi ciently drawn-in air, secretions and solid particles and hazardous amalgam can be separated directly in the treatment unit.


1989

IDS presentation of Dürr XR 24, the fi rst X-ray Film Processor with ’immersion tank ’-technology which prevents chemicals from crystallizing on the rollers and thus guarantees a great image quality, – always!


1987

The introduction of the Dürr Amalgam Separator System AZ 100 gives witness to the company‘s commitment to new environmentally friendly technologies.


1986

Simply logical, simply safe: Introduction of Dürr System Hygiene with comprehensive range of products for equipment-specific disinfection, cleaning and care designed for practice and laboratory.


1983

High-Dent made in Germany: Start of own electronics manufacturing department, with circuit board assembly at the company‘s Gechingen facilities.


1982

Company headquarters taking up residence at Höpfigheimer Strasse 17, Bietigheim-Bissingen.

Introduction of the Dürr 1416 fully automatic X-Ray Film Developer, capable of processing all common dental film formats.

The Dürr Selective Hose Holder positions Dürr Dental visibly at the dental unit. It improves suction ergonomics and by this the smooth teamwork of dentist and assistant.


1981

Diversification and expansion into new business sectors through the founding of the Dürr GmbH & Co. KG – Luft- und Processor-Technik. The key products delivered by Dürr Technik are pumps and compressors for industrial special-purpose applications.


1978

Consolidation of the company's US engagement by transferring the activities to the joint venture 'Air Techniques', Hicksville, New York.


1977

The European market is strategically develloped:
Dürr Dental France in Paris is the first company-owned branch office abroad.


1976

The first Dürr Separator System separates liquid and solid particles from the air intake, extracts them continuously and then cleans itself hydro-dynamically.


1975

‘Switch-over to Dürr Dental’ for full automation of the X-ray film development of all dental film formats: the Dürr 1330 is launched on the market.


1974

Milestone for the quality of dental compressed air:

worldwide introduction of the Dürr Dry Air systems to protect high-quality dental instruments against oxidation and bacteria growth in the tank.


1973

GMD Gechingen moves into the new production plant and expands its manufacturing capacities significantly. A production plant for Compressors under the name of Engineering Dental Industry (EDI) is offi cially opened on Long Island in the USA.


1972

Establishment of the Dürr laboratory business with the development and production of the vacuum single-bed appliance Multivac for Degussa.


1971

Start of the success story in North America with the delivery of the first oil-free Compressors.


1970

Changing the form of enterprise into a Pte. Ltd., the new name of Dürr Dental GmbH & Co KG was registered with the local Commercial Register.


1969

Paving the way for modern multiroom suction solution in practices with the introduction of the Dürr central suction systems.


1968

A technical development assignment by the Siemens company prompted the involvement with a new product fi eld: With the design and subsequent production of the Procomat for Siemens, the first fully automatix X-Ray Processor was born.


1966

The years of experience in the needs of equipment care lead to diversifi cation of product range: Dürr Dental introduces Orotol®, a disinfectantcleaner for vacuum systems, starting off the development of a comprehensive system of care products for dental equipment.


1965

Introducing the fi rst oilfree Compressor for the dental fi eld. Using Tefl on-made piston rings make oil-lubrication of cylinders a thing of the past. Thus, Dürr Dental paves the way for the bonding-technique in tooth preparations.

Presenting the Paradentospray-System offers dentists a new method of prophylaxis and treatment of
marginal periodontal disease.


1964

Dürr Dental revolutionizes dentistry in Europe with Orosuc, a mobile Vacuum Unit that allows the dentist to be seated during treatment, with the patient in a supine position.


1961

The first cabinet-installed Vacuum Unit Dürr PuZ 871 introduces spraymist suction in Europe.


1959

Establishing the Gechinger Motoren Werke Dürr & Co. (Gechingen Motor Works, aka GMD) as manufacturing site for motors, components assemblies, and devices.


1957

A glance at the price list shows the range of small treatment units, polishing and suspending motors, handpieces and angle pieces.


1956

Begin of compressor production, starting with an oil-lubricated Dürr Compressor driving the KaVo Air Rotor.


1955

The first mobile Vacuum Pump for the continuous aspiration of saliva, blood, secretion and rinsing liquid during wet drilling marked the beginning of ergonomics in dental treatment.


1954

Transfer of the company's domicile to Bietigheim, Etzelstraße (construction of the first production building), further development of the dental-technology products.


1949

Registration with the local Commercial Register (IHK) as K u. W. DÜRR DENTALFABRIKATION oHG (open partnership enterprise), with residence in Ludwigsburg.


1947

The first milestone: Development of the first water-cooled dental hand- and angle-instruments now allows pulpaconserving tooth preparation.


1946

Entry into the dentistry sector with the manufacturing of spare parts for dental handpieces and angle pieces.


1945

After the end of the war reopening of the workshop in Ludwigsburg, manufacturing of useful domestic products, entry into the 'compression technology' sector.


1941
